Traffic heavy in Jingle Pot-Nanaimo Parkway area due to soil giveaway

People driving onto Jingle Pot Road, off Nanaimo Parkway, can expect to heavy traffic until late this afternoon, as vehicles line up to collect free soil from the Milner Group.

As part of community support initiative in light of the COVID-19 pandemic, the Milner Group is handing out garden soil today, April 11, until 5 p.m., with the giveaway taking place at Milner’s facility at 4202 Biggs Road.

Craig Cookman, Milner Group general manager, said social distancing procedure will be followed, with people asked to stay in their vehicles and workers loading soil.

Traffic control workers are directing vehicles.
