A rail company was victimized by the theft of 30 expensive batteries.
Southern Railway, located on Tenth Street, had a break-in sometime overnight on Wednesday, Nov. 8, according to an unsolved crimes report provided by Nanaimo RCMP.
“Thieves broke the locks off two signal cabins and made off with 30 Nikon batteries valued at approximately $14,000,” the report noted.
