The Courtenay Shell gas station on the old Island Highway was robbed Sunday afternoon.

On Jan. 27, at approximately 3:10 p.m., the Comox Valley RCMP responded to an armed robbery at the Shell gas station, located on the 150 block of Island Highway North in Courtenay.

A male, described as being approximately 5-foot-11 tall, entered the business stating he had a weapon. The male fled on a bicycle, with an undisclosed amount of cash.

The investigation into this robbery is being led by the Comox Valley RCMP Major Crime section with the assistance of the Integrated Forensic Identification Section.
