RCMP searching for man who approached boy in Colwood

Boy was approached at the corner of Painter and Cotlow roads in Victoria

The West Shore RCMP are searching for a man who approached a young boy in Colwood earlier this week.

At approximately 8:15 a.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 8, police responded to a report from school staff that one of their students had been approached by a man in a car on their way to school at the corner of Painter and Cotlow roads.

The boy ran to school and alerted staff.

Police are hoping to identify and speak to the driver. He is described as Caucasian, in his early 20s with long corn rows or dreadlocks with multicoloured elastics. He also has possible facial piercings and was wearing a dark grey shirt, leather jacket and orange pants.

The car is a grey/black two-door car, low-rider style with possible decals and silver rims.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the West Shore RCMP at 250-474-2264 or anonymously through Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
