Nanaimo RCMP are asking for the public’s assistance in locating a missing 17-year-old female.
Savannah “Jade” Williams-Baker was reported missing by her father Oct. 17 after she had not been seen since Oct. 12 when he left for work at 7:30 a.m.
Her father told police it was not uncommon for his daughter to not check in for one or two days. However, after not hearing from her all weekend, he decided to call police.
Her parents have contacted their daughter’s friends and have left messages on her Facebook account, which seems to be inactive.
Williams-Baker is in Grade 12 at Wellington Secondary School and has not been seen at the school since Oct. 13 around noon. RCMP school liaison officers are also involved in the search.
Const. Gary O’Brien, Nanaimo RCMP spokesman said there are no drug or alcohol issues and no history of Williams-Baker leaving home.
“Both her mother and father and extended family are desperate for any word from Savannah or one of her friends to let them know she is safe,” said O’Brien.
Williams-Baker is 5’5”, 115 pounds with long, straight, blonde shoulder-length hair and blue eyes.
She has a nose and lip ring and usually wears a black leather jacket, jeans and black boots.
