Pickup plummets

Firefighters and B.C. Ambulance crews use ropes and a stretcher to carry the driver of a pickup truck to an ambulance Thursday. The accident happened at about 3 p.m. when the northbound truck veered off the Parkway and plummeted down a steep embankment north of the Fifth Street intersection. A witness said he saw the truck swerve twice before it went over the bank. The driver avoided serious injury.
