UPDATE: Nanaimo woman who stopped texting her family has been found safe

UPDATE: Nanaimo RCMP have reported that the 37-year-old Nanaimo woman who was reported missing after she stopped texting her family, has been located safe and sound.

PREVIOUSLY POSTED: A woman who stopped texting her family regularly to let them know she is OK is now considered missing.

Nanaimo RCMP, in a press release, asked for the public’s help in locating Victoria Simpson, 37.

According to the release, the missing woman used to text family weekly, but has not done so since early November, and they are worried.

The woman has no fixed address, noted the press release, and has been living a “transient lifestyle” for five years, however police believe she is in Nanaimo. Front-line workers had contact with her in north Nanaimo on Dec. 22, the release noted.

She is described as five feet tall with a slim build and long black hair. She has tattoos on her feet and right index finger.

Anyone with information on her whereabouts is asked to contact Nanaimo RCMP’s non-emergency line at 250-754-2345, quoting file No. 2023-1299.
