NANAIMO – The city will replace high-pressure sodium lights currently in use at the Bastion parkade with new LED lighting.

The City of Nanaimo will replace high-pressure sodium lights currently in use at the Bastion parkade with new LED lighting.

According to a press release from the city, the new lights will consume half the electricity while increasing brightness.

The $40,000 project is expected to decrease the current electrical consumption by 63,000 kilowatt hours annually, which will help the city avoid $5,000 in electrical costs.
