Nanaimo RCMP seized an e-bike they suspect was stolen and are hoping to reunite it with its rightful owner.

Police issued a press release last week noting that Nanaimo RCMP bike patrol officers recovered the e-bike Wednesday, April 13, at a homeless encampment behind a used-car lot.

“Several individuals at the encampment denied any knowledge of the bike or where it came from,” noted the press release. “Based on the value of the e-bike and its condition, officers seized it for safe keeping.”

RCMP say the orange Rayvolt Cruzer bike has a retail value of more than $4,000.

Anyone with information about who the e-bike might belong to is asked to call the Nanaimo RCMP non-emergency line at 250-754-2345 and quote file No. 2022-12460.
