Nanaimo RCMP are seeking help in finding Makayla Chang, 16, who was last seen in Nanaimo on March 19.

“Chang is usually very active on various social media platforms but since Monday, she has not posted anything which is out of character for her,” said Const. Gary O’Brien, Nanaimo RCMP spokesman, in a press release.

Chang is 5-foot-1, 110 pounds with dyed red hair and hazel eyes, was believed to be wearing a grey hoodie and multi-coloured leggings with scattered stars and planets when she was last seen.

Her family and friends are worried for her well-being and have exhausted all avenues as to where she may be, said O’Brien.

O’Brien said police are following up on information that Chang may have travelled to the Lower Mainland with a male in his early 50s who goes by the name of Steven Bacon. He is described as being 5-foot-10, 210 pounds, with white hair.

If you have any information on Chang’s whereabouts, please call Nanaimo RCMP at 250-734-2345. You can also contact Crime Stoppers at www.crimestoppers.com, text 274637 with keyword Nanaimo, or call 1-800-222-8477.
