A man sought in relation to a missing person case has been located, says Nanaimo RCMP.
Makayla Chang, 16, was last seen in Nanaimo on March 17 and Nanaimo RCMP issued a release March 29 seeking Steven Michael Bacon, 53, who police said may have had information on her whereabouts.
On Thursday, Const. Gary O’Brien, Nanaimo RCMP spokesman, said Bacon had been located, spoken with police and is no longer being sought.
The investigation involving Chang is continuing, O’Brien said, adding that police would like any and all tips from the public that might indicate her whereabouts.
Chang is described as part Asian, part Caucasian, 5-foot-1, 110 pounds, with light skin, short, dyed-red hair and has piercings in her lip.
