Nanaimo RCMP are asking for any dash cam or cell phone video or “pre-collision driving evidence” involving a 2013 Dodge Ram pickup truck that collided with a car at the intersection of Cranberry Road and the Trans-Canada Highway at about 9 p.m. on Thursday, May 20. (News Bulletin file photo)

RCMP are interested in hearing from more witnesses to a fatal crash in Nanaimo last month.

A 74-year-old woman died in a crash at Cranberry Avenue and the Trans-Canada Highway on May 20 just before 9 p.m.

“Investigators are confident, given the time of the crash and the number of vehicles that were in the vicinity, there are additional witnesses and dash cam video available,” noted an RCMP press release.

Police say investigators are also hoping to obtain “pre-collision driving evidence” about the suspect’s vehicle, a white 2013 Dodge Ram pickup truck.

Charges haven’t yet been laid and the investigation is continuing.

Anyone with dash cam or cellphone video or eyewitness accounts who has not spoken with police is asked to contact the Nanaimo RCMP non-emergency line at 250-754-2345, and quote file No. 2021-18403.
