Nanaimo Port Authority announced Friday that Patrick Belanger has come aboard as its new marina manager.
Belanger comes to Nanaimo from Victoria, where he worked with the Victoria Harbour Authority. He worked for on-site supervision at Victoria’s Fisherman’s Wharf, including its marina and property operations.
“I really like the Nanaimo area and see many economic advantages in this community,” said Belanger in a press release. “My position with the Nanaimo Port Authority provides me with a great opportunity to apply my management and maintenance background to specific areas in a team setting.”
Bernie Dumas, port authority president and CEO, said he was pleased with Belanger’s hiring and the wealth of experience he brings.
“The Nanaimo Port Authority marinas and Mills Landing are centre pieces for the harbour and hold high value for local stakeholders. Mr. Belanger is a great fit for us and this important part of our harbour community,” said Dumas.
