Nanaimo Mounties hope the public can help them reunite a found boat motor with its rightful owner.

The three men were arrested allegedly in the midst of committing a violent home invasion on Howard Avenue last week.

Nanaimo RCMP were called to a home invasion in progress on March 9 in the 600 block of Howard Avenue where, according to police, three men had pushed their way into a residence and were searching for a previous tenant.

The current tenants denied knowledge of this person and were allegedly assaulted and threatened with a machete.

Police arrived during the encounter and arrested Kyle McHugh, 27, Jason Froude, 37, and Steven Desjarlais, 40.

None of the victims suffered serious injuries.

All three suspects have been charged with breaking and entering, assault with a weapon and uttering threats. Froude and McHugh are being held in custody until their next appearance in Nanaimo provincial court April 11.

Desjarlais has been released, but will also appear in court April 11.
