The Nanaimo Historical Society’s next meeting will feature the story of the ‘Hermit of Chemainus.’

Guest speaker Sean Enns, a writer who grew up in Chemainus, knew Charlie Abbott, a “beloved hermit” whose trails through the forests of Chemainus stand as “a love letter to the land he lived on and cared for over a decade,” notes a press release from the historical society.

The meeting happens Thursday, April 14, at 7 p.m. at the Bowen Park activity centre and is open to the public. For information about joining the society, visit www.facebook.com/NanaimoHistory.
