Damage to the storefront was estimated in excess of $5,000.

Police later recovered a stolen Dodge Dakota pickup they believe was used in the robbery in central Nanaimo.

Travis appeared in Nanaimo provincial court Thursday on a charge of possession of stolen property obtained by crime.

Investigators are following up several leads to other people suspected of being involved in the robbery.
