Nanaimo Airport introduces new logo

Airport commission says new logo represents the region and has a ‘creative twist’

Nanaimo Airport has introduced a new look with a new logo.

Featuring the airport’s universal three-letter code, YCD, the logo is blue and green, representative of the land and water vistas central Vancouver Island is known for, stated a press release, with “a creative twist to the use of an airplane icon, showing it taking off and soaring.”

In the press release, Dave Devana, Nanaimo Airport Commission president and CEO, said the new emblem is symbolic of how Nanaimo can be seen as Vancouver Island’s “gateway to the world.” YCD is “a modern transportation hub that’s trusted to connect people and goods to our Island,” he said.

“That’s our path as air travel recovers,” Devana said in the press release. “We’re moving forward. We’ve made considerable investments in enhancing our facilities and services and plan even more in the years ahead to continue to meet the region’s needs.”
