Mounties after dirt bike thieves

NANAIMO – Racing bikes valued at $10,000 each stolen from shed in Beban Park area.

Nanaimo RCMP are asking for the public’s help to find two racing bikes stolen from a storage shed sometime between Monday and Tuesday.

The bikes were in a shed at the rear of a property in the 2300 block of Bowen Road.

Thieves broke into the shed by unscrewing the wooden base of the shed then peeling back a plywood wall.

Investigators spoke with neighbours who reported hearing two dirt bikes Tuesday morning between 3 and 3:30 a.m. racing up an alleyway that leads toward Rosstown Road.

One of the bikes is a 2010 Suzuki RMZ 250. It is black and yellow and bears the decals ‘777’ and ‘Brandon Williams.’ The second bike, a 2010 Yamaha YZ 250, is white and yellow and has the same decals.

The bikes are valued at about $10,000 each.
