Medical pot facility keeps growing

NANAIMO – Three properties owned by Tilray are now re-zoned for medical marijuana production.

Dozens of new jobs are expected as Duke Point’s medical marijuana facility prepares to expand.

Tilray won approval from Nanaimo city council last week to rezone three Duke Point properties for expansion of its medical grow operation. The company plans to construct a building more than double its current size, which is expected to create an additional 275 jobs once complete, according to a city press release.

The expansion still needs to go through permit and regulatory approvals.
