Kayaks stolen after being left unattended for half an hour along Nanaimo River

Kayaks were stolen from the woods along Nanaimo River within minutes of being left unattended last month.

According to a Nanaimo RCMP press release, the theft happened Oct. 20 sometime between 11:10-11:40 a.m.

“The kayaks were taken from the bush while the owners of the kayaks were shuttling other users to their respective vehicles,” the release noted.

One of the kayaks is an orange and yellow Jackson Karma that has an ‘M’ written on the stern; the other is a green and yellow Pyranha Ripper.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Nanaimo RCMP non-emergency line at 250-754-2345, and quote file No. 2021-39245.
