A group of people concerned about climate change are hoping to create ‘circles’ to connect with one another and engage in climate action initiatives.
Community Climate Circles, an initiative of the Nanaimo Climate Action Hub, is asking community members to apply to become community climate connectors.
“This is an opportunity for anyone who is interested in helping others to reduce their climate pollution and their impact on the environment,” noted a press release.
The group is planning a learning session in the evening on Oct. 20 meant to give people “the skills and confidence” to lead Community Climate Circles with their friends and neighbours, “sharing information and supporting each other as you work to reduce your climate pollution and become more engaged in climate action.”
The group said it is seeking diverse membership, including renters and homeowners and people from a range of backgrounds, ages and ethnicities.
Those interested are asked to fill out an application form by Oct. 13 at noon. For more information, visit http://communityclimateconnectors.ca.
