Nanaimo Fire Rescue firefighters extinguished a blaze in a building on Stewart Avenue yesterday.

The fire broke out at 3 p.m. Friday May 26 at Anchorage Marina Village at the intersection of Stewart and Larch Street.

Tim Doyle, Nanaimo Fire Rescue chief, said the incident is under investigation and there were no injuries.

A section of Stewart Avenue was closed in both directions and Doyle said the fire was extinguished in approximately 30 minutes.

The investigation will take place next week, Doyle said.
