COVID-19 cases reported at Mountain View, Aspengrove schools

Public and independent schools report exposures of virus Feb. 16, Feb. 18-19 respectively

COVID-19 exposures have been reported at public and independent schools in the Nanaimo-Ladysmith area.

According to Nanaimo Ladysmith Public Schools social media post, a COVID-19 case was reported at Mountain View Elementary with the potential exposure date Feb. 16.

In addition, Aspengrove School in Lantzville has also seen a report of exposure, with potential dates Feb. 18 and 19.

Earlier in the month, exposures were reported at Ladysmith Secondary School with potential dates Feb. 8, 9, 10 and 16, 17 and 18, according to Island Health.

According to the Province of B.C., there are 4,677 active cases of COVID-19 across the province, with 2,206 on Vancouver Island and 39 new cases reported in the region yesterday.
