Three expressions of interest by parties interested in operating the Vancouver Island Conference Centre are in front of the City of Nanaimo – two of which are local, according to Victor Mema, the city’s chief financial officer.
The city put out a call last year for expressions of interest on the Vancouver Island Conference Centre for venue management and visitor development services. Its contract with the current operator Atlific Hotels expires March 19.
The city has not released the names of the parties under consideration.
“The process of reviewing the received submissions is now underway,” Mema said, in a press release. “A decision leading to a new agreement is expected prior to mid March.”
