Nanaimo RCMP are asking for the public’s assistance to locate a boat that was stolen in late September from the tennis club grounds.

According to a Nanaimo RCMP press release, the boat was stolen sometime between Sept. 26-28 from the Westwood Tennis Club on Arbot Road.

The boat is a 15-foot flat bottom with an aluminum hull and black strip. The vessel is quite old and does not show a brand on it. Attached to the boat is a 115 horsepower Suzuki outboard motor with a jet drive and an eight-horsepower Mercury motor. The vessel number is BC5692609 and the hull number is AW3101016484.

On board was a barbecue, two oars, a 2,000-watt generator and three or four personal flotation devices.

At the time of the theft, the boat was on a Roadrunner trailer with B.C. licence plate WCM 14P.

Anyone who has information about this incident is asked to contact the Nanaimo RCMP non-emergency line at 250-754-2345 and quote file No. 2022-34412.
