Arrest warrant issued for manslaughter convict

Police issue arrest warrant for man convicted of manslaughter in Nanaimo.

A Canada-wide warrant for breach of statutory release has been issued for the arrest of Robert James Williams, 33.

Williams was convicted of manslaughter in Nanaimo in 2004.

He was granted statutory release in April and was living at a halfway home in Vancouver.

The warrant was issued May 23 after Williams failed to return to the home.

Williams is believed to have associates on Vancouver Island, but to date there have been no confirmed sightings of him.

Williams is Caucasian, 5'7" tall and weighs 160 pounds. He has brown hair, green eyes and tattoos on the right and left sides of his neck.

He should not be approached.
