Array Studios of Nanaimo will be charged with the task of creating an important tool to attract and inform visitors to the Harbour City.
After a thorough and open request for proposals process held by the Nanaimo Economic Development Corporation, Array was selected to develop the city’s 2013 visitor’s guide, a key component in the corporation’s annual marketing strategy. It is also the main fulfillment piece for visitor enquiries while in the region and includes distribution in visitor centres across the Island.
“Array Studios is looking forward to working with the NEDC team on the 2013 visitor’s guide,” said Mike Reid, president and CEO of Array Studios. “We all live in the Nanaimo community and are pleased to be a part of a project that is promoting Nanaimo as a tourism destination.”
As part of the marketing strategy, Tourism Nanaimo will also focus on attracting visitors from the Lower Mainland and Alberta through social media.
Other marketing initiatives include advertising campaigns, working with Tourism Vancouver Island, Tourism BC, and the Canadian Tourism Commission.
Tourism Nanaimo also operates two visitor centres, including a new facility at Northfield Road and the Nanaimo Parkway which is slated to open in the coming weeks.
