Labour groups gather to protest new health care funding model.

Victor Elkins, Hospital Employees Union president, right, speaks at a rally to protest a new health care funding formula that will cut an estimated $36 billion in federal health care funding. The rally, attended by about 50 people representing the Council of Canadians, HEU, Canadian Union of Public Employees in front of Nanaimo Regional General Hospital Tuesday, was part of a National Day of Action that included similar rallies across Canada.
