YES! You should absolutely have your dryer vents professionally cleaned.
According to the National Fire Protection Agency, within the last 10 years B.C. has seen 700 home fires involving dryers or washing machines. NFPA also states that the leading factor contributing to the ignition of home fires involving clothes dryers was a failure to clean them, accounting for one-third (33 per cent) of dryer fires.
