Sweets, French Canadian culture on display at Maple Sugar Festival in Nanaimo

Festivities on this weekend at Beban Social Centre in Nanaimo

French Canadian culture is on full display as Maple Sugar Festival du Sucre D’Érable takes place at Beban Social Centre in Nanaimo.

Francophone music, wares and food are on sale, including tire sur la neige (toffee on a stick).

Festivities are on today, Feb. 24 till 6 p.m. and Sunday, Feb. 25 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

L’Association des francophones de Nanaimo is hosting the event.
