A crash on the highway near Nanaimo Airport tied up traffic this week, but no one was seriously hurt.

The incident happened at approximately noon on the Trans-Canada Highway at the south Cedar Road intersection. According to North Oyster Fire Department chief Florian Schulz, a northbound pickup truck collided with a northbound SUV at a red light.

Ladysmith RCMP S/Sgt. Tim Desaulniers said both drivers were taken to hospital with what appeared to be minor injuries, and the driver of the pickup received a violation ticket for driving without due care and attention.
