Nanaimo RCMP looking for missing 65-year-old man

Missing man, who enjoys hiking on Mount Benson, has not been seen for five days

The RCMP is asking for the public’s help locating a missing Nanaimo man.

Gregory Nowosad, 65, is described by police as an avid multi-day walker who enjoys hiking in Mount Benson Regional Park. He usually has with him a green and black backpack and was last seen at his residence on or before Friday, March 1.

Friends and family, who as of Wednesday, March 6, have not seen the missing man for five days, are concerned for his well-being.

The missing person is 5-foot-10, 210 pounds, with short brown, greying hair and brown eyes. Anyone who has seen him or has information that could help locate him is asked to call the Nanaimo RCMP non-emergency line at 250-754-2345 and reference file No. 2024-6543.
