Late-night sailings to accommodate fans of Pink, Guns N’ Roses, Morgan Wallen and the Vancouver Canucks are among the additions to Hullo’s October ferry schedule.
In a press release, Vancouver Island Ferry Company said it will increase the number of Hullo ferry round-trips to and from Nanaimo and Vancouver. Ferries will sail from Nanaimo at 7 a.m., 11 a.m., 3:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. Sailings depart Vancouver at 9 a.m., 1 p.m., 5:30 p.m. and 9:30 p.m. on non-event nights.
On the night of Canucks’ games, the 9:30 p.m. departing Vancouver will be replaced by a 10:30 p.m. departure and on concert nights, it will be replaced by an 11:30 p.m. sailing.
Hullo offered a late-night sailing for people attending the Beyoncé concert earlier this week and Alastair Caddick, Hullo CEO, said event-night ferries are something customers have been asking for.
“We’ve had so much demand for late-night sailings, as people from Vancouver Island are looking for an easier and more affordable way to enjoy evening concerts and games in Vancouver,” Caddick said in the press release. “After attending events on the mainland, people can now safely travel back home and enjoy the comfort of their own bed.”
Sailings at 11:30 p.m. for Sept. 22 and 23 Coldplay concerts are also scheduled.
Hullo ferries began operations in mid August and 23,000 customers have sailed to and from Nanaimo and Vancouver since then, noted the press release.
