Quartet sings about loss, love and rural living

NANAIMO - Genevieve and the Wild Sundays performs at The Nanaimo Bar Saturday (April 30).

Genevieve and the Wild Sundays are bringing their tales of loss, love and rural living to Nanaimo Saturday (April 30).

The group’s music has folk and old-time country roots, which incorporates bluegrass rhythms, pop and more.

The group consists of Genevieve Charbonneau, Kelly Sherwin, Laura Carleton and Chandra Crowe.

Charbonneau, who hails from the Cowichan Valley, is the main songwriter for the group.  Marc Atkinson received Producer of the Year Award at the Vancouver Island Music Awards for her debut solo album Updraft in 2014. Her song Farmer Ain’t in the Dell was nominated for Country Recording of the year.

The group’s debut album, Fine Line, features love ballads, political commentary and more.

Genevieve and the Wild Sundays perform at The Nanaimo Bar April 30 at 9 p.m. Admission is $8 at the door.
