Pop tunes picked by choir

A Nanaimo chamber choir picked some of the most popular music from the last century for a spring concert.

Rosemary Lindsay and the A Cappella Plus choir sing selections of pop music from the 20th century, dating back to the 1920s during the concert at Brechin United Church May 28.

Included in the program are medleys, such as Tea for Two, I Want to Be Happy and Charleston, that reflect the upbeat mood of the roaring ’20s. The 1940s, heavily influenced by the Second World War, features big bang music, such as Glenn Miller’s iconic classic In the Mood.

Songs from the ’60s and ’80s complete the lineup, which features guests the Sinclair Singers.

The concert starts at 7:30 p.m. Tickets $15; $10/students at Fascinating Rhythm and the Quilted Duck.
