Nanaimo author Judy Millar wins second place in the Vancouver 2016 Story Contest.

Nanaimo writer Judy Millar won second place in the Vancouver 2016 Story Contest.

Millar won $200 for her story Cerulean, which is about a desperate mother trying to connect with her schizophrenic son.

The story will also be published in the National Voices 2016 Anthology, published by the Canadian Authors Vancouver branch.

Millar also won second prizes in fiction and poetry in the Victoria Writers’ Society annual contest and third in the Burnaby Writers’ Society contest.
