Nanaimo author Alison Marie’s memoir My Anchor of Hope: A Journey of Restoration, Redemption and Freedom is being sold at Chapters.

Marie is donating $5 from every book sale in August to Haven Society to raise awareness about domestic violence “and the effects of trauma on child development and the brain,” according to a press release.

Marie is a domestic abuse survivor who raised three children, earned a master’s degree and opened her own counselling practice.
