Time Well Wasted uses the power of a five-piece horn section and the combined voices of three female lead singers to get people on the dance floor.

The band performs at the Queen’s Saturday (Nov. 10). Time Well Wasted, from Comox Valley, is a 12-piece band. It performs a variety of funk, soul, rock, rhythm and blues. It performs hits from the Doobie Brothers, such as Long Train Runnin’ and China Grove, as well as dance classics by Stevie Wonder and Michael Jackson.

“It’s a high powerhouse band playing a complete mix of road rhythm and blues,” said John Mang, a keyboardist for the band.

The female vocalists in the band include Juno award winner Sue Medley, Valley Idol winner Jacquelyn Block and Charity Munro.

“The three female lead singers provide quite a range for us,” said Mang.

Nanaimo’s Jeff Gillespie uses his talents on the guitar to accompany the singer’s voices.

“He’s just an incredible guitar player,” said Mang.

Tickets are $15 in advance or available at the door. For more information please go to www.timewellwasted.org.
