Seven arts organizations in Nanaimo and Gabriola Island received grants from the latest funding announcement from the B.C. Arts Council.Included in the announcement were Gabriola Arts Council, community arts council grant worth $11,250; Poetry Gabriola Society, project grant of $3,500 for a professional arts festival; Crimson Coast Dance Society, special project for co-op placement, $9,200; Nanaimo Art Gallery Society, operating assistance of $15,500; Nanaimo and District Museum Society, operating assistance of $25,000; Assembly of B.C.
