Nanaimo’s Harbourfront Library is full of books, movies, computers and now local artwork.
A series of handmade fabric pieces are currently being featured at the front entrance.
The two-dimensional artwork was created by Nanaimo artist Mariam Dov.
“The theme is the power of the flower, which is a theme of expansion and contraction,” Dov said about her display.
The nine pieces that are on display were made from recycled fabric and took hours to to create.
“It is a labour of love,” Dov said. “It is meant to inspire people and to raise the vibration ... and I wanted the public to see it and see how much detail is involved.”
Dov’s fabric artwork will be on display at the library until September.
