Dancers represent province

Rachel Bramley is one of three provincial champions from Brigadoon Dance Academy who represented B.C. at the Canadian Highland Dance Championships last week.

Brigadoon Dance Academy performers stepped their way to the Highland Dance Championships this July.

Three of the academy’s dancer qualified to represent the province during the championships. The Canadian championships which were held in Montreal, Que., last week.

Jillian Peacock won the provincial championship in her 16-17 year old class, Cameron Kearns was the champion for the 12-13 year old class and Rachel Bramley was the second runner up for the 14-15 year old class.

Earlier this year dancers earned medals during the B.C. Closed Highland Dancing Championships.

In the 12 and under 14 category Kearns earned two gold, one silver and one bronze. In the 14 and under 16 Bramley received one gold, on silver and a second runner up.

In the 16 and under 18 category Peacock received three gold and one silver.

In the 21 years and over Samantha Beach received one silver, and one bronze.
