Youth get a taste of yoga, soccer

NANAIMO: Coastal Community Credit Union invites families to come out, get active, and enjoy yoga and soccer.

Coastal Community Credit Union invites families to come out, get active, and enjoy yoga and soccer in the park Saturday (Aug. 18) in support of KidSport Nanaimo.

The event runs from 10 a.m. to noon at Woodlands Secondary School field (Boundary Avenue and Strathmore Street).

Zoe Cristiano, one of Coastal Community’s 2012 Scholarship recipients, will be hosting the health and wellness event designed  to get more people of all ages active in their communities while supporting a worthy cause.

Family members over 12 years of age can take part in a yoga class led by instructors from Moksha Yoga Nanaimo while the under 12s get to play soccer scrimmage.

No previous experience is required and all skill levels are welcome.

Participation is by donation ($5 suggested) with all proceeds going to KidSport Nanaimo. Children who otherwise might not have the opportunity to experience sport, receive grants from KidSport to participate in a sport season of their choice.
