Wave Babes host fundraiser
Nanaimo’s Wave Babes dragonboat team is hosting a variety of fundraising ideas all on one day in support of health care on central Vancouver Island.
The team’s fifth annual Plant Sale and More takes place Saturday (April 16), 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. at 730 Hunter St.
There will be more than 1,000 perennials to choose from – including 80 types of plants – and a variety of books on sale. Participants can also drop off scrap metal and bottles for recycling.
All proceeds go to the Nanaimo and District Hospital Foundation for the purchase of diagnostic equipment for breast cancer detection.
