Walk connects to help line

Children can continue to talk about their problems with a professional counsellor thanks the Walk so Kids Can Talk event.

Children can continue to talk about their problems with a professional counsellor thanks to money raised during the annual Walk so Kids Can Talk event.

The walk, held May 6, took place in 40 locations across the country.  Nanaimo’s $13,000 contributed to the $2.2 million raised nationally.

Kids Help Phone allows children and youth to connect with a professional counsellor either through the phone or online.  In 2010, more than 225,000 counselling sessions were held with youth.
