Auxiliary to Nanaimo Regional General Hospital – A volunteer with a pickup truck is needed at the auxiliary’s thrift store. The position involves lifting, so the volunteer must be in good physical health.  The commitment requires two hours each week, ongoing for three to six months. Habitat for Humanity – A volunteer with a forklift ticket is needed to help a student achieve forklift certification. A commitment of Tuesdays and Thursdays between 9:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. is required. Habitat also needs volunteers to deliver and pick up furniture between 8:30 a.m. and 4 p.m. on Thursdays. Pacific Rim Whale Society – Volunteers are required for the Tofino Whale Festival, March 19-25, to celebrate the return of 20,000 grey whales to Canada’s West Coast. Jobs include greeting festival participants, set up and take down of events, pre-festival organization, and more. Please register at www.pacificrimwhalefestival.com.
