Vancouver Island University’s VIP Business Breakfast is expanding this year to all four campuses to help raise money for students.
Sponsored this year by Coast Capital Savings, the money raised at the breakfasts will go to student scholarships through the VIU Foundation.
“We are looking forward to working with the Vancouver Island University Foundation to support students,” said Maureen Young, Coast Capital Savings spokeswoman. “VIU is integral to the growth of Vancouver Island’s academic knowledge base, skilled trades and cultural resources.”
Students have benefitted from the scholarships will be at each of the breakfasts to share their stories. The Port of Nanaimo is sponsoring the first of four breakfasts Thursday (March 10) and the audience will receive an update from port officials on the progress of the cruise ship terminal.

“The goal of the foundation is to grow our asset base so we can help students achieve their dreams,” said Ali.
