Texas Hold’em helps food bank

A good poker face and knowing when you’re in or out is key to success in Nanaimo’s River Riders Poker Tour

The league runs three-month-long free-to-play Texas Hold’em poker seasons, playing with prizes awarded to the leaders at season end.

Each game is also a collection depot for donations to the food bank. The organization is on pace for 2,200 kilograms of donations in 2011.

The next season begins May 1 at the Wellington Pub at 7 p.m.
