For more than 90 years, the Rotary Club of Nanaimo has worked selflessly to provide for those in need.
From its international Rotarian efforts to eradicate polio, to the local focus on the health and well-being of Nanaimoites, the club has embraced a challenge and taken the responsibility as their own.
It is with this spirit of service that club members delivered a donation of $50,000 to the Nanaimo and District Hospital Foundation toward the purchase of equipment for the new emergency department at Nanaimo Regional General Hospital.
“The foundation is deeply grateful that the Rotary Club of Nanaimo Members share the belief that superior health care is possible for everyone,” said Jim Crist, foundation vice-chairman.
Since the hospital foundation began its first capital campaign more than 20 years ago, the club has given more than $125,000 for equipment.
