Ride reduces stigma of mental health

NANAIMO – Inaugural bike ride raises money, awareness for mental health.

A new bike ride event is coming to town.

The inaugural Ride Don’t Hide Community Bike Ride in support of the Canadian Mental Health Association, Mid Island Branch, takes place June 23 at Maffeo Sutton Park.

The event includes a cruise along the E&N Trail, entertainment and prizes.

Sponsored by Shoppers Drug Mart, the ride raises awareness and funds that make a significant difference in the mid Island region, send a message that building mental health is important and create awareness about and reduce the stigma often associated with mental illness.

Cost is $35 to participate and includes a T-shirt; youths under 14 are free.
