Ready to jump

NANAIMO – Workers at Nanaimo Travellers Lodge compete to raise money to skydive for organization.

Gord Gauvin, instructor at Skydive Vancouver Island, and Gladys Vandenbrink on staff at Nanaimo Travellers Lodge dementia care home, prepare to take off into the skies as they get ready to parachute from a plane to the delight of the residents.

Skydive Vancouver Island donated a tandem skydive to Nanaimo Travellers Lodge, which saw Vandenbrink raise $460 to Carrie Duquette’s $411, securing the opportunity to jump, while Duquette bought her own ticket and skydived.
